Tannenfeld Castle

The first documented mention of the place as Tanniveld dates between 1181 and 1214. Around 1800, the small late Baroque castle with an English landscape park was built, which together with Löbichau Castle formed the “Musenhof Löbichau” until 1821. In 1899, Dr. Arthur Tecklenburg acquired the property and transformed it into a private healing and care facility for psychiatry and neurology. In the process, the small castle was redesigned, an extension was added in 1911, and a French garden was created. Tecklenburg expanded the complex into the “Kurhaus Tannenfeld” with accommodation buildings, villas, and utility buildings. The park was renovated and planted with azaleas and rhododendrons from 1908.
