Tapfheim Castle
On an artificially raised hill in the south of the municipality of Tapfheim rises Tapfheim Castle. Its Baroque architecture.
History+
The Hofmark Tapfheim was acquired by Kaisheim Abbey in 1692. Under Abbot Roger II. Röls, the current castle was rebuilt in 1730, replacing an older predecessor. Following secularization, the castle passed into secular hands and was owned by the Waiß family from 1820 to 1991.
On site+
The two-story castle features gables with volutes on its north and south sides. A round-arched central portal adorns the west facade. Today, the castle is privately owned.
