Tapfheim Castle

Tapfheim Castle is located on an artificially created hill (Burgstall) in the south of the municipality of Tapfheim in the Donau-Ries district.
In 1692, Kaisheim Monastery acquired the Hofmark Tapfheim. Abbot Roger II. Röls had a new castle built in 1730 in place of the old one, which still stands today in its old splendor. In the course of secularization, Tapfheim Castle came into secular hands. From 1820 to 1991, it was owned by the Waiß family.
The two-story stately building is bordered on the north and south by gables with scroll volutes. On the west front there is a round-arched central portal.
