Tausendlust Castle is a castle in Hitzendorf in Styria, formerly also called Altenburg Castle. It was built in the second half of the 16th century and is now privately owned.

Tausendlust Castle is located on the road that leads from the cadastral community of Höllberg, which belongs to Hitzendorf, to Stein in Attendorf. It is situated on a ridge that separates the Liebochtal from the Södingtal and slopes steeply to the east.

Design+

Tausendlust Castle is a two-story (three-story) building and is still largely in its original condition today. Only a side wing and the tower were demolished in 1799 and 1823.

The castle was built in the second half of the 16th century by Alexander Rüdt von Khollenburg under the name Altenburg. Probably there was already a medieval castle complex at this location, but its existence has not yet been proven. In 1605, the property went to Adam Gabelkhofer.
