Thürmsdorf Castle
The popular holiday resort of Thürmsdorf is located at the foot of the Bärensteine. The center of the village is the castle, whose magnificent park, with numerous rare protected trees and shrubs, extends to the Bärensteine area. The park invites you to contemplative walks. The former knight's estate was in the hands of Hans Christoph von Kiczscher around 1623. In 1728, the estate was sold to Johann Christian Blechschmidt. In 1801, the castle was owned by Count von Holtzendorf. After this, the owners changed frequently (in the 19th century the Lords von Friesen / le Fevre, around 1900 Baron von Biedermann and from 1932 Baron von Arnim). In 1945, the owners were dispossessed and expelled by the communists.
The castle was renovated after 1990 and the park is freely accessible. The knight games, which take place annually at Thürmsdorf Castle, have now become a tradition.
