Thurn Castle

To be privately owned

Thurn Castle (Old German for Tower) was first mentioned in a document in 1422. In 1737, the castle was converted into a baroque pleasure palace by a Bamberg cathedral capitular.

The park was opened in 1975. The current owner of Thurn Castle, Hannfried Graf von Bentzel-Sturmfeder-Horneck, has transformed the castle park into an adventure park and has continuously expanded it since its opening. He and his family still live in the castle today.
