Thurneck Castle

Educational establishment

The castle was built between 1575 and 1785 by the architect Albert Lucchese as a hunting and pleasure palace on behalf of Archduke Ferdinand II of Austria. From 1704 to 1706, the castle was rebuilt by the Counts of Tannenberg in the High Baroque style.
