North of Althofen in Carinthia, Austria, Töscheldorf Castle, a baroque structure, rises.

History+

The first documented mention of Töscheldorf dates back to 1369, when a manor house with a farm stood on this site, serving as the seat for a Salzburg official. The current castle was built in the 17th century by Georg Ordolph Gschwindt, an iron industrialist and owner of the hammer mills in Pöckstein. The Barons of Ottenfels contributed to the embellishment of the castle in the first half of the 18th century. Until the 19th century, Töscheldorf was primarily owned by industrial families.
