Töscheldorf Castle

The castle is a stately, three-story, Baroque building with a gable-crowned, slightly projecting, three-axis central risalit. The columned portico with a balcony dates from the 19th century, the tendril stucco around the windows from the early 18th century. A coat of arms can be seen on the gable field.

The wall paintings in the large hall in the middle of the main floor were created by Josef Ferdinand Fromiller in the mid-18th century. The room is structured by painted columns with niches. Antique statues of gods are depicted in grisaille technique in the niches. Above the niches and above the doors, mythological scenes are reproduced: On the west wall, one sees (from left to right) Perseus, above him Callisto, transformed into a bear; Scientia, above her Mercury presenting his lyre to his brother Apollo; above the door Polyphem, hurling a rock at Acis and Galatea; Mars, above him Arion on a dolphin. The depictions on the east wall show (from left to right) Vulcanus, above him Europa on the bull; above the door Daedalus and Icarus; Gloria Virtutis, above her Apollo, abducting Hyacinthus; Minerva, above her the chained Andromeda with the sea monster; above the door Polyphem and Galatea and on the far right Jupiter and above him Apollo and Marsyas. The ceiling painting is covered by a 19th-century wooden ceiling. Allegedly, it depicts an assembly of gods.

The chapel is a small building on a terrace south next to the castle. The sacred building, probably erected in 1597, underwent extensive renovations in the first half of the 19th century. The Late Renaissance portal, framed by half-columns, is inscribed on the entablature with "Sigfridus Steyrer aedificavit 1597". Above it is a lunette with a marble relief from 1897. The depiction of Mary between angels on it is a copy of a Florentine work from the early 16th century. The large Neo-Gothic tracery window above the portal and the surrounding blind arcade frieze were created in the 19th century. The interior of the chapel is adorned with Biedermeier paintings.

The farm building next to the castle is a two-story, classical Biedermeier building erected around 1840.
