Train Castle

The castle's origins date back to the turn of the millennium, when it was known as Hittinburg. In the 13th century, the place was renamed Train. The castle changed hands multiple times and was owned by noble families such as the Pfeffenhauseners and Feurers, as well as the knights Eckher von Kapfing. In 1722, Baron von Deuring established the castle benefice. During the Thirty Years' War, the castle suffered destruction but was subsequently rebuilt by the Eckher von Kapfing. Between 1788 and 1807, under the castle mistress Elisabeth von Train, two popular uprisings occurred.
