Trautskirchen Castle

Trautskirchen is mentioned first in 1057 on the occasion of consecration by bishop Gundekars von Eichstätt. The first castle was build probably around 1350 by Arnold von Seckendorff- Nold. A drawing after a desription from 1670 shows the stronghold. The heraldic figure of the castle In 1706 Ernst Ludwig von Seckendorff-Gutend bought the estate and build the present baroque castle from 1706-1709 on it. the architect was Johann Dietzenhofer, very famous at his time. From 1733 it was sold several times to different owners. In 1828 it came back to the family von Seckendorff- Aberdar, who is now still the owner.
