Schloss Hartenfels+
Geschichte+

The castle was probably built as a late medieval lowland castle with moats around 1000 AD. In 1411 it is mentioned as the widow's residence of the wife of Elector Rudolf III, in 1480 as a fief of the Löser family. In the middle of the 17th century, the castle was converted into a palace. At the end of the 19th century, further alterations were made to the west wing. Today the complex serves as a retirement home.
