Small Castle

The small castle was built in 1695 by Duchess Mauritia Febronia of Bavaria, by the Munich court architect Giovanni Antonio Viscardi. In 1829, the passage to the Loreto Chapel was expanded into a triumphal arch (Ludwigstor). Renovation work took place from 1988 to 1998. Today, the castle is used as a castle cafe.

A baroque castle garden was laid out. From 1754-1757, the castle was rebuilt to its current form according to plans by Francois Cuvilliés the Elder and Karl Albert von Lespilliez.
