Somewhat south of the village center of Uitikon, on a hill, lies the former residence of the lords of Uitikon and Nieder-Urdorf. Colonel Hans-Jakob Steiner von Hallwil and his successors expanded "the new house on the Büel" into a castle between 1624 and 1626.
