Unterleinleiter Castle

The first documented mention of the castle dates back to 1372. After its destruction during the Peasants' War around 1523, it was rebuilt. Another major fire in 1690 led to its renewed destruction and subsequent reconstruction. In 1757, the property passed into the possession of the Barons von Seckendorff, who gave the castle its current appearance around 1770. The family left the castle in 1952. From then until the 1980s, it served as a therapeutic children's home. From 1986, the castle and its associated 17-hectare park, which was laid out in Baroque style after the Thirty Years' War and partially reconstructed from 1985, underwent extensive restoration.
