Utzenaich

The history of Utzenaich is linked to the Utzenaicher family, who had their seat here. A deed of donation from 1140 mentions a Pilgrimus de huceneiche. Around 1400, the Stocker family took over the property, with Kaspar Stocker and his sisters already calling themselves "auf Utzenaich". Heinrich Stocker, who sealed a document in 1468, bequeathed the estate to his son Sebastian. Through a series of female successors and later to Sebastian's brother Kaspar, Utzenaich eventually passed to Melchior and his son Hans. As Hans remained childless, his widow married Veit von Tattenbach in 1575, transferring ownership to the Tattenbach family. Hans Ardolf von Tattenbach, elevated to Imperial Baron in 1623 and Imperial Count in 1637, consolidated Utzenaich with other properties into a fideicommissum.
