Vanås Castle is situated in the Swedish region of Skåne. It is known for its art exhibitions and remains privately owned to this day.

History+

The origins of Vanås Castle date back to the 15th century, with the oldest parts of the building constructed around 1400. In 1440, Eskil Åkesson was mentioned as the owner. Later, the estate passed into the possession of the Brahe family. In 1525, Claus Bille acquired the castle. During the Seven Years' Northern War between 1563 and 1570, Vanås suffered looting and was severely damaged by fire. Sten Bille subsequently arranged for the restoration of the building in 1566.
