In Lalendorf-Vogelsang in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern stands Vogelsang Castle, a manor house in Tudor Gothic style. Its origins date back to the 14th century, but its current form is due to a redesign in the late 19th century, which gave it an appearance with battlements and architecture.

History+

The first mention of Vogelsang dates back to 1379, when Prince Lorenz von Werle transferred the estate to the brothers von Wozenitz. This noble family from Rostock retained ownership for over three and a half centuries. In 1734, Vogelsang passed to the von Plessen family, who managed it until 1834 and also founded the village of Vogelsang. The 19th century was marked by changes of ownership, including the Manecke and Rudloff families. A turning point was the acquisition by the Hamburg merchant Julius Hüniken in 1884.
