Vornholz Castle is located in Ennigerloh-Ostenfelde in the Warendorf district, North Rhine-Westphalia. The complex is surrounded by double moats and a rampart.

History+

The first documented mention of the Vornholz estate dates back to 1172. After a fire in 1666, the main house was rebuilt by master builder Peter Pictorius on behalf of Dietrich Hermann von Nagel. The castle underwent several alterations and modernizations, including work in 1841. The side wings, which incorporate older building components, were probably built later. The northern chapel wing was also redesigned in 1841, while the northern tract at the western end bears the year 1799 inside.

Vornholz Castle is privately owned. The former core castle presents itself as a three-winged complex of plastered quarry stone.
