Voswinckelshof Castle

Voswinckelshof began in the 13th century, when it was one of four noble seats in Dinslaken. In 1527, the then owners made an agreement with the city, allowing them to remove a section of the city wall to erect a new building outside the original course of the wall. The current building, likely constructed in the late 18th century, rests on the foundations of this predecessor building from 1527. Before World War I, the estate served as a children's convalescent home. Since 1955, it has housed the city's historical Museum Voswinckelshof, which reopened in 1999 after renovation.
