The former moated castle in Waizenbach was built around 1570 in the Renaissance style by Dietz von Thüngen. In 1733, the castle became the seat of an evangelical noble ladies' convent. During the Second World War, the castle burned down and was subsequently restored, foregoing the tall baroque spire helmets. The convent itself formally still exists today under the administration of the Barons Truchsess zu Wetzhausen.
