Waldegg Castle

The castle was built in 1420 by Georg Narringer. In 1477, the castle was destroyed during the Baumkirchner Feud and subsequently rebuilt. The castle was expanded in the 16th and 17th centuries. Further owners were the Gleispach family from 1542 - 1630, Christoph Freiherr von Eibiswald in 1630, the Lords of Eibiswald, and the Barons of Schwizen from 1718 - 79. Today, the castle consists of two opposing two-story corner wings. The tower and significant parts of the residential building with chapel were demolished in the 19th century.
