On the northern edge of Waldmannshofen, a district of Creglingen in the Main-Tauber district, stands Waldmannshofen Castle. It was built on the foundations of a late medieval castle complex and today is a Renaissance castle with Baroque accents, housing a museum.

History+

As early as 1408, a complex in Waldmannshofen was documented. From 1421, the Rosenberg family resided there. The moated castle was destroyed in 1523 during the Swabian League's feud against so-called robber nests, as Kunz von Rosenberg supported a robber knight. Between 1544 and 1548, Kunz von Rosenberg had the castle rebuilt as a moated castle.
