History of the Castle+
The castle is first mentioned in 1516. It is believed to have been built around 1100 by the Margraves of Cham. Several extensions and alterations were made in the 17th and 18th centuries. In 1784, the keep was demolished. In 1799, the castle partially burned down and was subsequently rebuilt. It subsequently housed the district court, district office, and district administrative office.
