Waldsee Castle, an impressive moated castle, is located in the heart of the spa town of Bad Waldsee in the Ravensburg district of Baden-Württemberg. It is distinguished by its historical architecture, which harmoniously combines Renaissance and Baroque elements and remains a testament to its long history.

History+

The origins of the Waldsee dominion date back to 1386, when Johannes II of Waldburg received it as a fief from Leopold III of Habsburg. A significant figure, Georg III of Waldburg-Zeil, known as Bauernjörg, was born in this castle in 1488. In the mid-16th century, around 1550, Georg IV of Waldburg-Waldsee commissioned the construction of a new moated castle.
