In Bühl-Neusatz, Baden-Württemberg, stands Waldsteg Castle, also known as Waldsteger Schlössle. The moated castle transformed from a low-lying castle to a stately edifice.

The origins of Waldsteg Castle lie in a medieval low-lying castle, first documented in 1294. This early structure was once encircled by a moat and a defensive rampart, accessible only via a drawbridge. It is presumed that the castle was founded as a ministerial seat by the von Cumber family from Ottersweier, who later adopted the name "Lords of Waldsteg." Structural alterations occurred at the beginning of the 18th century, initiated by Baron Carl Jacob Ferdinand von Plittersdorf, who sought to consolidate his properties in Neusatz.
