Schloss Wasserburg+

In the center of the peninsula lies Wasserburg Castle – built between 1537 and 1555 by the Montforts as a Renaissance castle, replacing an earlier castle complex of the Lords of Schellenberg, as a three-wing complex. On February 17, 1750, a fire completely destroyed the west wing, which was never rebuilt. The castle building has walls up to three meters thick, has been privately owned by the Köberle family since 1812, and today houses a hotel and restaurant.
