Weilerhof Castle (Fischenich)

The settlement of the area where Weilerhof is located dates back to Roman times, as evidenced by documented finds. As early as the early 14th century, the manor house of an estate owner is said to have stood here. From 1300 onwards, Cologne Carthusians gradually acquired lands in the surrounding area. The farm complex, which came into the possession of the monks by 1407/08 at the latest, was destroyed and rebuilt several times, most recently in May 1586 by Truchsessian troops, after which it was rebuilt in 1587. The current Neo-Gothic manor house was built in 1896 from field-fired bricks, while the existing quadrangular farm dates from 1911.
