Weingarten Castle, known as “Schlössle,” is a historic building in Upper Swabia. Originally built as an administrative seat, it now houses a museum.

History+

Around 1550, the castle was constructed in the Renaissance style to serve as the administrative center for the Anterior Austrian Landvogtei of Swabia. In the 18th century, it became the residence of imperial district judges, with Baroque stucco work by Franz Schmuzer dating from this period. Later, in the 19th and early 20th centuries, it was used as residential quarters for officers.
