In the municipality of Weißenborn/Erzgebirge in the Mittelsachsen district of Saxony, Weißenborn Castle is a structure whose history dates back to the 13th century.

History+

The first documented mention of the castle and its associated village occurred in 1213. In 1365, Weißenborn was granted as a fief to the Freiberg family von Hartitzsch, who owned the estate until 1802. The construction of the castle is dated to the 14th century. Weißenborn was affected by wars, looting, and the plague. In 1802, Alexander von Hartitzsch sold the castle and manor to Christoph Schubert, who then passed it on to a cavalry captain von Weißenbach.
