History+

The origins of Wendischbora date back to 1301 when it was owned by the knight Dietrich von Bora. In 1372, the site was first documented as a knight's seat. Ownership changed frequently, including to the families von Maltitz, von Schleinitz, and von Ende. Some owners died shortly after acquisition. In 1833, the manor and the castle were destroyed by fire. Henriette Ernestine von Feilitzsch initiated the reconstruction from 1835 onwards.
