Wernau Castle
In Wernau's Steinbach district, Wernau Castle, a structure from the early 18th century, shapes the appearance of the area.
A moated castle previously existed on the site of the current castle. The Lords of Liebenstein were the original builders of the later castle, which passed into the possession of the Barons of Palm. They had the estate expanded with a granary and a wine press.
Wernau Castle is located in the Steinbach district of Wernau am Neckar in the Esslingen district, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It lies at an elevation of approx. 278 meters above sea level.
The castle, a yellow-washed main building with an almost square floor plan and a high mansard roof, is now privately owned and not open to the public. The three lower floors are visually separated by horizontal structural elements. Tall trees surround the property.
