In the municipality of Pölla-Wetzlas, Wetzlas Castle stands. This Neoclassical manor house, surrounded by a park and a garden wall, forms a three-sided enclosed complex together with its outbuildings and an astronomical tower.

History+

Originally used as a farmstead, the estate underwent a transformation into a manor house between 1720–1725 under Baron Ignaz Philip von Ehrmanns, then owner of the Dobra dominion. During this period, the astronomical tower and the castle garden were also created. After several changes of ownership, Franz von Andrea acquired the castle in 1842. He had it extended upwards and a chapel added. In 1940, Wetzlas Castle was sold to the German Reich and incorporated into the Döllersheim military training area.
