Wiesenfelden Castle, an estate whose roots trace back to the early 12th century, stands in the Straubing-Bogen district.

History+

The first documented mention of the locality Wiesenfelden dates back to the year 1105. The castle itself served as the center of a self-contained Hofmark and was owned by different noble families. Among the owners were the Haibeck family from approximately 1346 to 1488, followed by the Lords of Paulsdorf, who held the estate from 1488 to 1548. Later, the Nothafft as well as the Barons of Mägerl and the Counts of Otting and Fünfstätten were also proprietors of the castle.
