History+

The origins of Wiespach Castle date back to the High Middle Ages, with a Gothic fortified tower presumed to have been built around 1300 as the seat of the Lords of Wiespach. In the 15th century, the building underwent a redesign or new construction under Georg Kölderer. It received its current early Baroque facade after 1600 under Marx von Gils.
