In the Upper Bavarian district of Landsberg am Lech is Windach Castle. It was built in the early 17th century and today is a rectangular building.

History+

The origins of Windach Castle date back to 1596, when the Munich merchant Franz Füll acquired the Hofmark Windach. He had a new castle built on this site, which was completed in 1610. In the same year, the Füll family was elevated to the nobility as Barons Füll von Windach and remained in possession of the Hofmark until 1825. Subsequently, the von Pfetten(-Füll) family took over the estate. This line died out in 1944 with the death of Lieutenant Karl Ignaz Heinrich Marquard Freiherr von Pfetten.
