Winkhausen Castle

Today's Kultur-Gut Winkhausen in the village of Schwelle was in earlier times an extensive estate, a so-called "Oberhof", built around 1800. The manor house (residence of the rent masters) included a small chapel, a bakehouse, several half-timbered barns, a fire station, and sheep and pig stables.
Today, the estate is a protected monument and has been converted into Kultur-Gut Winkhausen after extensive renovation work.
Nestled in a picturesque landscape, workshops, seminars (philosophy, language, literature, economics), readings, exhibitions, music events, and seasonal festivals are regularly offered there.
The credo of the house is: "Beholding beauty, imagination, art".
