Wocklum Castle is a moated castle in the Sauerland region, located in the Orle valley in Balve.

History+

The roots of the complex lie in a Saxon ring fort and a fiefdom once owned by Bernd von Düngelen. In the early 14th century, the noble family of Wockelheim (Wocklum) resided here. Later, Hermann von Hatzfeld, a bailiff who distinguished himself as an opponent of the Reformation during the Truchsessian War, was also among the owners.
