Wolfsburg Castle, also known as Broicher Hof, is a former moated castle in Roisdorf, a district of Bornheim. This structure in the Rhein-Sieg-Kreis, North Rhine-Westphalia, is characterized by its Rhenish Late Renaissance architecture.

History+

The origins of Wolfsburg moated castle are presumed to predate the 15th century. In the 15th century, it was owned by the Wolff von Bergheimersdorf family. An expansion occurred in 1626 with the addition of a transverse building, which gave the castle its current form. It is believed that the castle served as a refuge during the Truchsessian War in 1583. In 1721, the property passed to the von Waldbott-Bassenheim family, who undertook Baroque-style alterations, particularly to the outer bailey and the gate tower.
