Wolftitz Castle
History+
A manor house was first mentioned in a document in 1229 as being owned by Titericus de Wolftiz. In 1456, the knight's estate changed hands to Hildebrand von Einsiedel. The current castle was built in the 16th century on the walls of a previous building. Around 1900, the chamberlain and retired cavalry captain Horst von Einsiedel, Colonel Kurt von Einsiedel, and retired major Eugen von Einsiedel were the owners of the knight's estate. In 1945, the von Einsiedel family was dispossessed and expelled by the communists. After 1945, the house served as a nursing home.
