Die Anfänge
In 1826, the manor owner Ludwig von Rohr erected the first hunting lodge in Wolletz. Anton Martinek, a German-American who acquired the estate and castle in 1936, replaced the old hunting lodge with a new building. In 1945, Martinek was dispossessed and expelled by the communists. Subsequently, the Ministry for State Security of the GDR took over the castle as a guesthouse. Since 1990, it has housed a specialized rehabilitation clinic.
