Wulften Castle, an estate in Osnabrück-Sutthausen, has a history dating back to the 12th century. Originally conceived as a manor house, it has undergone various uses and today is a residential complex.

History+

The first documented mention of the Wulften estate dates back to 1147, when it presumably served as the ancestral seat of the noble Wulvena family from Osnabrück. After changes of ownership, the city of Osnabrück acquired the castle in 1929. Until 1936, it housed a single-class Catholic school. Severely damaged during World War II, the building fell into disrepair until it was rebuilt and renovated in 1962 by the merchant Emil Krone.
