Zeilitzheim Castle is a Baroque country estate located in Kolitzheim in Mainfranken. It serves as a venue for cultural events.

History+

The construction of Zeilitzheim Castle took place between 1679 and 1683 under Philipp Gaston Wolf, Count of Wolfsthal. He was an imperial colonel in the Turkish Wars, a district judge in Bamberg, and held other offices. In 1706, he was elevated to the rank of count. As his only son passed away, he adopted his friend, Count Schönborn-Wiesentheid, whose descendant Damian Hugo Philipp von Schönborn-Buchheim took possession of the castle. Around 1735, Giovanni Francesco Marchini decorated the ballroom. The Schönborn counts remained owners of the estate until the late 1950s before selling it.
