Zöbigker Castle

Die Anfänge

A manor in Zöbigker is first documented in 1378 as being in the possession of the Knights of Pflugk. At the end of the 14th century, Sigmund Pflugk converted the farmstead into a knight's estate. Ownership changed in 1543 to the von Gehofen family, in 1612 to the Lords of Dieskau, and in 1687 to the von Marschall family, who had the manor house rebuilt. In 1714, the Kees family acquired the estate. They renovated the house in 1720 in the Leipzig Baroque style. In 1945, the Kees family was dispossessed and expelled by the communists. From 1980, the manor house stood empty. In 1992, the manor house was renovated.
