In Riedlingen-Zwiefaltendorf, Baden-Württemberg, stands Schloss Zwiefaltendorf, a structure with a history dating back to the 11th century. Originally a moated castle, the current palace is a building with a past.

History+

The origins of Schloss Zwiefaltendorf lie in a moated castle that already existed on this site in the 11th century. In 1517, this castle, along with the entire village of Zwiefaltendorf, was burned down by order of Duke Ulrich of Württemberg. The palace building visible today is first mentioned in documents around 1660. From 1441, the complex was owned by the Speth family, and from 1878, it belonged to the Barons von und zu Bodman.
