The Lockwitz Palace Church in Dresden is a structure, distinguished by its direct architectural connection to the adjacent palace. As the only Evangelical-Lutheran church of its kind in Dresden, it combines sacred architecture with a stately ambiance.

History+

The origins of the Lockwitz Palace Church likely date back to the 13th century, when a Catholic chapel existed on this site. After the Reformation in 1539, the chapel was initially closed. It was not until 1622 that it was rediscovered by Johann Georg von Osterhausen, the then owner of the manor, and transformed into an Evangelical church. The following year, Lockwitz gained the status of an independent parish.
