Schloss Wehningen came into the possession of the Count of Bernstorff in 1842. At the end of the 18th century, the castle burned down and was rebuilt in 1906. In 1979-80, it fell victim to the border security measures of the GDR and was demolished. Today, only the archway and the beautiful castle park with the castle pond remain.
