Breitenbrunn Castle Ruin, a structure in the Ore Mountains, was once an electoral hunting lodge and is now a landmark of the municipality of Breitenbrunn.

History+

The origins of Breitenbrunn Castle Ruin lie in a watchtower, presumably built in the 13th or 14th century, which formed the starting point for the settlement of the locality. This tower, surrounded by a moat, initially served as an outpost of the Schwarzenberg dominion. Later, it was converted into a hunting lodge, which also served as the forester's residence and housed hunting equipment.
