Buebingen Castle

The former moated castle was built around 1340 by Gobel von Remich and destroyed by French troops in 1668. In the second half of the 18th century, it was completely rebuilt by the de Maringh family. In 1940/1941, Bübingen Castle became the property of the Saarburg district, which established a teacher training college there. In World War II, the castle was again destroyed during the battles for the "Orscholzriegel". Since Bübingen was not rebuilt in the following years, like Berg Castle, it fell into disrepair more and more and is now only a ruin. Almost forgotten, Bübingen Castle is now privately owned and no longer freely accessible.
