Einödhof Castle

The tithe farm, originally belonging to the Admont provostry of Zeiring, was expanded into a castle by the Lords of Kainach in the mid-16th century. In 1629, ownership changed to the Lords of Teuffenbacher, who completed the construction.

Of the complex, the four-story tower with an entrance gate and parts of the three-story central wing (with a stucco ceiling from the mid-18th century) are preserved.

Further owners were the Galler (1663-1736), the Attems, and the Sessler. An 18th-century military description refers to this isolated farm as a favorable barrier to the plain between the Mur and the mountains; hence the constant dispute over this property.
