Pansevitz Castle (Ruin)

The first documented mention of the site dates back to 1314. For centuries, it was owned by the von Krassow family. In the 16th century, construction began on the manor house, which was completed in 1597. In the 18th century, a cavalier's house was added, and the main building was redesigned, with parts of the facades being removed. In the 19th century, the estate passed to the zu Innhausen und Knyphausen family through marriage. After its expropriation by the Soviet occupation forces in 1945, the castle was initially inhabited by army officers and later by several families. From 1963, the manor house fell into disrepair and served as a quarry for building materials. A restoration of the castle park began in 1999, partly supported by the expropriated family.
