Schönecker Castle

The Schönecker Castle, also known as Schönecker Tower or Eltzer Hof, is a late medieval residential tower in the town of Münstermaifeld in Rhineland-Palatinate. It is a three-story building with a simple Renaissance bay window on the second floor. A gabled roof forms the upper finish.

The exact ownership history of the still preserved late medieval residential tower has not yet been investigated. However, the first owners could have been the Kurtrier ministerial family of Schöneck, who gave the castle its name. Later, the Lords of Eltz, and around 1654 the Lords of Ufflingen, acquired possession. In the 16th century, the building received a Renaissance bay window facing the street.
